Our Client File Transfer Protocol (FTP) Guide will help you connect to the Dove Direct FTP easily and quickly to submit your artwork files. By uploading files directly to the Dove Direct server, you won’t have to rely on email or couriers.
PLEASE NOTE*** THE BELOW METHODS ARE TO BE USED ONLY FOR NON-SENSITIVE DATA AND ART FILES REQUIRING THE LOWEST LEVELS OF SECURITY.
Data requiring compliance for Hippa, PCI, and others, including data that contains Personal Information, reqiures clients to contact us at email@example.com and setup a dedicated VPN / SSH / SFTP account.
Listed below are the methods you can use to upload files to Dove Direct:
Note: Clients must first download and install an FTP client.You will need your ‘case sensitive’ user name and password. Prior to getting your personal username and password, You must first visit ftp.dovemailing.com and use the temporary username and password to gain access.

You will need your personal credentials to gain access to the Dove Direct FTP server. UserName: your assigned/registered user name Password: (case sensitive)
3. Connecting via File Sharing Networks
Note: Connecting to Dove Direct via file sharing services such as Dropbox, OneDrive, GoogleDrive, and others, clients must download and install the file sharing clients, upload and send us the link to download the files to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Customers who wish to submit artwork and data files have four options. FTP, mail/courier, eMail or Foolproof E-Mail File Transfer.
For faster upload/download times, and to retain data integrity (particularly fonts), please compress your files with WinZip (Windows) or Stuffit (MacOS).
Upload your files to our FTP server here:ftp.dovemailing.com – or by using any FTP Client software, such as Fetch, Transmit (MacOS), Cute FTP (Mac/Windows), or WS_FTP (Windows).
Create a subdirectory for your job and copy all the files into that directory. After copying the files, please send us the details of the job via e-mail, including file details, size of data uploaded, PC/Mac job, etcetera.

We accept the following media: CD / DVD
Please fill out and print our FTP Request Form and send it along with your files and printouts so that we know what you need: quantity, paper type, colors, and other pertinent details
Please include a copy of all image/graphic links, screen fonts and printer fonts
Enclose a final black-and-white, same-size proof with all pre-press and post-press operations clearly marked
Include digital data for punching and spot UV, etcetera, if any

Submit via E-Mail
You can send digital data as an e-mail attachment as long as the e-mail contents have been compressed to be no more than 10 MB.
Note:File names containing spaces and special characters, and without proper application extensions added to the file name, may cause an improper transfer.
PC files for Quark must use True Type fonts only, and Adobe CS files must have all fonts converted to paths. Note: The PC does not support other applications.
Files must contain only text/vector data, without any pictures
Files must be less than 10MB
For faster upload/download times, compress your files using WinZip (Windows) or Stuffit (MacOS)
Be sure to add the appropriate application file extension to your file name
Attach the artwork to your e-mail message as a file attachment from Internet Explorer or Firefox
Send the e-mail to us at: email@example.com and please copy your Dove Direct Sales Consultant or Project Manager
Once your artwork is submitted, please fill out and submit our FTP Request Form so that we know what you require: quantity, paper type, colors, and other pertinent details
Frequently Asked Questions and Useful Resources
Q: I can’t establish a connection to the FTP Server. What’s wrong?
A: Ensure that the username and password credentials are accurate. Passwords are case sensitive. In addition, if you are using an FTP Client not mentioned above, make sure the FTP connection is set to passive.
Q: Is my upload file too large?
A: If you are using Internet Explorer’s built-in FTP functionality, you may run into hang-ups or freezing when trying to upload images or files that are very large (50MB+). If you need to upload large image files, we recommend using a standalone FTP Client, such as FileZilla.
Q: I’m able to upload files and images with no problems. Is it possible to manage my FTP and delete files/folders?
A: Accounts are created to allow deletion of files/folders within the FTP account. If you require further permissions or the adding/deleting of files is not working, please contact your Dove Direct Project Manager.
